It has been suchhhhh a long time since I last blogged and now that I have WAY too much free time, I decided to write a lil something. About my nanok gulai girls! Haih these girls... Where do I even begin? I bet it is going to be one hell of a long post, so I'm not sure if anyone is going to read this till the end. But if you're one of the few people who does, then congrats! You da real mvp.
To commence, I guess it is best if I start introducing them one by one.
8/9 with Ayu missing in the picture. From left: Fazleen (Faz), Safiyyah Yunos (Sasa), Afifah Abd Rahman (fifa15), Arisya Farhani (Syahani), Aina Adleen (Enaleen), Me (qila jo-d), Farisha Aziz (Faa/Ishii), and Wan Zahira (1jeera).
Picture taken on the last day of foundation, creyz.
Hey there's Ayu in the picture beside me! Top row, second from right. Still incomplete, with Faz missing in the picture.
I swear we have the weirdest nicknames lol and yes, we actually do call each other fifa15, 1jeera and etc.
Anyway! Now that the whole introducing thing has been done, let's move on to how we got the name Nanok Gulai. Honestly until today I still can't believe that we actually call ourselves by that name and the fact that I was the one that came with the idea, it's not really that surprising. At first, I only knew the girls by their names. We were pretty much acquaintances. We saw each other, said our hi's, how are you's and bye's, and left it at that. I never really hung out or had any real conversation with any of the girls, except for Syahani. We knew each other from a friend. Our friend Maizura who was my colleague from Chilli's and also Syahani's schoolmate, saw how much we suffered the first few days of foundation (mds was a total pain in the ass) and introduced Syahani and I on Twitter. We decided to meet and clicked ever since. That's my uitm bestfriend, peepur.
Aside from Sya, I met Sasa and Faa during orientation, 1jeera and Faz from a friend, Ayu from Uzairi, and Enaleen and fifa15 from.. Their constant jogging (mantion) session. Hehe. So this one night, all of us inadvertently joined Palam Glow Run 2015 (which was during our finals & last 2 weeks of foundation) and since we had many mutual friends, all of us just kind of gathered, hung out with each other and formed our own squad.
Above is our typical Fleming's Rule squad pose.
The guys have always been close to each other since day 1 of foundation but conversely for the girls, that night just sparked everything. Following that night, the girls started to hang out with each other a lot and our bond have grown tighter and tighter ever since. Sigh. *wipes tears*
Amidst our finals, we cramped eight girls in 1 room (which was my room), watched movies, gossiped all night and had tonnssssss of laughters.
After our movie night we had our very own henna night, with no bride! We called in a degree student who offered henna service and she drew masterpieces on our hands till late at night. We kind of pitied her for staying too long but we all knew that she enjoyed herself too, listening to 8 girls gossiping about all sorts of things ehe.
On our last night in UiTM Puncak Alam, we went to Faz's house to have dinner and attempted to persuade her mother about a lil somthannn. Afterwards they were supposed to drop me off at Murni Seksyen 7 but when we arrived, Murni was already closed and suddenly something else caught our eyes. There it was, the ferris wheel of i-City stood tall and automatically activated the 5 year-old inside of us.
"Oh my God tu i-City punya ferris wheel ke?"
"Oh my God are you guys thinking what I'm thinking??"
"OH MY GOD KORANG JOMMMM"
So yah we ended up wandering i-City all night, ate cotton candies, watched a 5D roller coaster movie (we were crying, there were spiders supposedly crawling on our faces!), took pictures with kung-fu poses and basically, just enjoyed ourselves.
Essentially, those were the highlights of our foundation days. After foundation, we spent time with each other during our trip to post-foundation trip to Sekeping Serendah, birthday parties and more sleepovers.
Finally, a complete picture of the nanok gulai girls, 9 out 9 even though it's blurry. Our birthday bash for creehulk (Fakhri) slash farewell party before everyone parts their way and pursue their degree. Brb gonna go cry myself an ocean.
Oh right! The name Nanok Gulai LOL I totally got sidetracked. Well basically nanok originated from Bangi which means weird I think, and nanok gulai is like the next, utmost level of weird according to Sasa. When we first met, the guys used the word 'nanok' and 'mantion' a lot and since everyone in the group has their own weird attitude, I suggested the name Nanok Gulai and only meant it as a joke at first. But somehow, everyone agreed to it even though we persisted reluctantly at first.. Eventually we got used to it because it actually portrays who we are, a bunch of weird girls I'll never get tired of. xo
